Parent Enrichment Program (PEP)
A collaboration of public & private agencies which provide basic necessities for child safety & improving parent's abilities to meet their child's needs. PEP has two supporting programs at Deaconess:
Impact
Evidence based parent education classes for parents of children ages 0 to 7.
Intensive Case Management (ICM)
Strength based services to familes at risk of frequent encounters with Child Protective Services.
Kids on the Move (KOM)
Serving high risk 6th through 12th grade youths and their families
Gateway
Support & education for special-needs parents and family members
Parent Trust
Self-help support groups that provide a positive listening, non-judgmental environment for sharing ways to build family strengths
Darrington Family Support Center
Skill-building in parenting, job-hunting & other life-management areas; increasing social networks; connecting youths to healthy community activities; help with basic needs
Teen Parent Advocacy
Individual & group support, parenting & life-skills education, community resource links, & job-readiness training for pregnant & parenting teens
Through the six programs listed above, Deaconess prevents abuse and intervenes early when abuse or neglect has occurred. All these programs have the goal of breaking the cycle of child abuse and neglect as well as assisting participants to overcome barriers that hinder development of their full potential.
